If you know, you know – but in case you don’t: summer in Chicago is a motherf**king blast. When summer hits, Chicagoans are over the moon about the glorious weather and their joy is infectious. See for yourself: take a walk along the lakefront or river. Most people are smiling ear to ear, bopping around, happy to be alive.
Chicago has so many amazing patios and outdoor restaurants. These places are perfect for catching some premium vitamin-D whilst sipping on a refreshing alcoholic slushy, cold beer, or chilled glass of natty wine. Summer is also my favorite season for food. I LIVE for juicy, ripe heirloom tomatoes and succulent cherries. I also thrive off a frozen cocktail – Parson’s Chicken & Fish is home to my favorite, the Dr. Coconut (highly recommend to all the other piña colada lovers out there).
Chicago makes it easy to spend your summer outside. I made this zine to help you make the most of your Chicago summer. From my favorite picnic spots (and the epicurean stores to stock up for said picnics), a fun day trip, outdoor events, best bar and restaurant patios to insanely delicious summer recipes, I’ve got you covered.
